AfterMove is a post-move unpacking and home organizing service in New York City. We come in after the movers leave, unpack every room, set everything up, and organize your closets and kitchen. We also work with clients who are already settled but need a full reset.

That is exactly where we come in. Once the truck is gone, we unpack everything, put it all away, and set up your home so it is ready to live in. You walk in and it already feels like yours.

Movers get your things from A to B. We do everything after that: unpacking, organizing, and setting up every room so it works for your life. It is a completely different service.

Yes. You do not need to be moving. If your closet is a mess, your kitchen does not make sense, or you want your space to finally work the way it should, we come in and fix it.

Yes. Some clients only need one closet done, a kitchen unpacked, or a few boxes dealt with. You do not have to do everything at once. We work with whatever scope makes sense for you.

Yes, and a lot of our clients do exactly that. We get you settled first, then come back for a deeper organizing session whenever you are ready.

We start with a walkthrough of your space, then sort, declutter, and build systems that fit how you live. We work with what you already own and can recommend products if you want them.

Yes, and closets are one of our most requested services. Walk-in closets, reach-in closets, coat closets, and linen closets.

No. We work with what you have, but if you would like to purchase any products, we are happy to suggest some.

Most unpacking sessions run 6 to 8 hours, and the total time depends on the size of your home. Townhomes, multi-level homes, and homes with lots of boxes often need more than one session. We will plan it with you during your free consultation, and if you need more time later, we can add a session or a few extra hours.

We strongly recommend it. Being there lets us ask where things should go as we unpack, so your home ends up set up the way you actually live. If you cannot be there for the whole session, let us know and we will talk it through.

Yes. We break down every box and take the boxes and the trash out with us, so you are not left with a pile. We do not handle donation pickup or drop-off, but we can set donation items aside for you to arrange.

We do need some notice, so please reach out as early as you can. The earlier you contact us, the better the chance of getting the date you want. If your move is sooner, message us and we will tell you what we have open.
